How Work Hours Are Calculated

Net Hours Formula
Net Hours = End Time - Start Time - Breaks
Example: 9:00 to 17:30 with 30min break = 8 hours
Overtime Formula
Overtime Pay = OT Hours ร Rate ร Multiplier
Example: 2h ร $20 ร 1.5 = $60 overtime
Common Overtime Rules
Time and a Half (1.5ร)
Most common rate in the US for hours over 40/week or 8/day.
Double Time (2ร)
